Whether you are looking for a relaxing, romantic, or an activity filled getaway the British Virgin Islands has it all. AnaCapri Estate is centrally located on the north shore of Tortola. This provides for an ideal location to take advantage of the many beaches, restaurants, ferries and activities that the British Virgin Islands offers.
For starters we have already mentioned that the view from AnaCapri Estate is one of the most spectacular anywhere which led to its tagline of “A View To Remember”. Guests have commented they are content to sit on the pool deck overlooking the Infinity Edge pool spilling into Cooten Bay and take in all that the view offers. You will see white sand beaches, the open Atlantic Ocean, rocky cliffs, a salt water pond, and several islands which always makes the view interesting. You will also likely see yachts, sailboats, and rainbows (after little rains this area gets a lot of rainbows). So even though you may not want to leave AnaCapri Estate we encourage you to get out and explore.
Some of the best ruins on Tortola are located at Cooten Bay. A 15 minute walk down to the rocky beach you’ll find a couple of cannons (on Wikipedia you may read that the second cannon was stolen, but we found it – shhhh) and a number of other structures. It’s a great walk back in history.
When cruise ships come in to Tortola they dock on the south side of the island at Road Town. Because of the secluded road and area where AnaCapri Estate is located you will likely not even know a cruise ship full of visitors are on island unless you go into town. Another rare encounter in the view is all natural 850 acre Guana Island. It is so special to view such a large island with no structure in site.
If you enjoy sightseeing and day trips to other islands you are at the perfect central location. Some of our favorite day trips are The Baths on Virgin Gorda, The Bitter End Yacht Club and Saba Rock, The Indians and Norman Island (aka Treasure Island) for snorkeling, and White Bay on Jost Van Dyke to visit Soggy Dollar Bar.
AnaCapri Estate is lush with plants, banana trees, papaya trees, spinach, and herbs for cooking. If you enjoy dining out some of our favorite restaurants are Capriccio di Mare in Road Town for pizza and Italian fare, Red Rock for a nicer dinner (ask if they are serving the lamb shank – fabulous). The Tamarind Club down by Josiah’s Bay has a wonderful Sunday brunch, and for a great treat stop by La Dolce Vita in Road Town for gelato.
In addition for the most active there is fishing, diving, surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and exploring the most remote areas of the islands.
